From John Gilmores Foreign Devils 2000 Swiss French Baseball Adventure!

The view from our Lausanne hotel of Lake Geneva and the surrounding areas. It's a great way to start your day!

Our Swiss baseball road trip took us all around Lake Geneva and beyond. Here we are playing in Bern against the Cardinals and in Lausanne against the Indians.

Chateau Chillon in Montruex kicked off our daily sightseeing. Meet the Year 2000 Swiss Foreign Devils Baseball Team! Back row: Harry Wade, Dennis McCroskey, Ted Simendinger, Angelo Kournianos, John Gilmore, Don Kiser, Dave Markzon, and Rick Shaw. Front row: Curtis Holland, Carl Anderson, Jerry Krassner, Robb Struckel, Glenn Mercer, and Jake Burns.

The home field of the Fribourg B52s was the most scenic of our games. The bells on the grazing cows beyond left field sounded like wind chimes the entire game.

Sightseeing and shopping in Geneva were followed by an evening game with the Geneva Dragons who hosted a post game reception.

Our trip culminated with our play in the Bulle 2000 Baseball Tournament with opponents from Switzerland, Italian, France, and the Dominican Republic.

In true baseball fashion, Bob Uecker was able to get his reserved seat for most of our games.
